Wonitha’s original pop rock music and soulful ballads is the main stream of this band’s performance, but her fresh arrangements of rockin’ cover tunes of the 60’s and 70’s bring bygone days back with all the fever and excitement of Woodstock and the British Invasion. Wonitha’s songs have been played on CKER, A-Channel, and CKUA. During the summer the band plays at many benefit concerts and outdoor festivals. The Wonitha Thomas Band gives a top-notch professional music experience. Great guitar work and ear pleasing harmonies make for a fun evening of music and entertainment. No cover charge, just come down and enjoy some food, drinks, and fantastic live entertainment.

Oct 5,  2007  Friday - EDDIE SHORTS  BAR & GILL -  10713  - 124 St.  Edmonton

A great time was had by all at Eddie Shorts Bar & Grill on Friday, October 5. Although the evening started on a slow note, by the second set people had begun to pack the place. The space in front of the band was soon filled with dancers of all sorts. Judy Smith celebrated her birthday . … and boy did she celebrate! Her enthusiasm on the dance floor was contagious and before we knew it half the house was up and dancing. An impromptu performance by Judy and her friend suddenly materialized in he middle of a song with Wonitha. All three , arms together , finished the song to the cheering approval of onlookers. Wow, was this a “Supremes” moment or what?

Special thanks to Ron Burgess for his support and encouragement. Ron and the the band met at Rosie's on 124 St, which sadly has closed it’s doors a few months ago. It was there that Ron saw us perform during an open stage. Ron also is a excellent musician himself. A warm friendship soon developed as we visited Rosie’s open stage. Soon after, Ron and his wife (Rosie) booked us for our CD release party . We hadn’t crossed paths for awhile till we met in Eddies Shorts one night. Ron told the owner of the established that he should hire us and gave us a wonderful recommendation . Soon after we were booked. Then Ron contacted the old Rosie crowd and brought in 20-25 people to see us. Wow—he’s our hero!
